Novice down Arthur By Curtis Marcoux The Acton Tanners played an outstanding game against Arthur on Feb. 10 downing them 8-3 in the Tri- County playoffs. The first seven goals were scored in the first period putting Acton in the lead. Arthur struggled to catch yj managing to get three goals but it wasn't enough. Tyler McNiven got three goals, Stephen Bennett scored two goals. David Gar- dener, Dustin Ballentine and Kevin Vickery were tied with one goal each. Alex Brake got three as- sists. David Gardener and Dustin Ballentine collected two assists each, while Kevin Vickery and Stephen Bennett had one each. One goal end for Minor Atoms The Minor Atom Tanners playing in Fergus, lost the fi- nal game 1-0 in their five game series against long-standing rivals, the Fergus Highland- ers. In game 4, played in Acton, the Tanners had downed Fergus 4-2 with goals by Ken Wenzel, David Moore, Jordan Kuenzig and Joshua Ceccotti.
