We are pleased to provide Acton with news concerning occur- rences at Bishop Reding Sec- ondary School. Over the past weeks, stu- dents have been looking for- ward to the March Break. The holiday lasts from the tenth of March to the twentieth. We hope that all students use this opportunity to have fun and catch up on all their studies. The spring dance on March 3 was a large success. The cafeteria was filled with students enjoying the evening of music and rhythm. Other 'student_government organized events that have or will take place include: vari- ous lunchtime activities, movies in the cafeteria and the euchre tournament. The winners of the tournament will - receive $50 and universal re- spect. The Bishop Reding School Reach team has shown excel- lence throughout their vari- ous competitions. The team came in first in their second consecutive tournament and now holds the first place title in Halton. Congratulations to all members. With spring rapidly ap- proaching, some sports sea- sons end and others begin. The junior girls' volleyball team displayed excellence throughout their season, win- ning two tournaments. The girls regrettably finished fifth in their division. Thanks are extended to Joel Brunner and Andrew Coe for helping the girls in their extra curricular activity. The badminton sea- son begins soon. The teams have been chosen. After 30 years as a member of the Halton Regional Police Service, "Fordy" has hung up his uniform for the last time. For the last 10 years, he worked in the Acton area and is well known by both the good and the bad. I have known Dave for about 25 years and always enjoyed working with him.
