Jean Kirby is now Jean Julian and lives in Guelph. Billie McKay married Andy Nicol "and I believe they are in the west." Nancy (Lambert) Wilhelm drew Shirley's attention to the photo and Jim writes he en- joyed seeing The New Tan- ner. "Wish I could get a sub- scription 'way down here' in Milton," he writes, "but I man- age to catch the odd copy." Milton for eight years, he played his intermediate and senior hockey in that town. After he retired from that | level, he went to play with the Guelph Musketeers in the Guelph Oldtimers league. "T had to retire at 48 be- cause my legs gave out," he says with a grin. His personal hockey ca- reer was in addition to his volunteer duties as an Acton bantam coach for 17 years. He was also part of Acton's Jun- ior B team management. That team was moved to Junior C and then shifted to Erin. He is still assistant general man- ager of the Erin Junior C Shamrocks. He coached his sons, Steven and Jeffrey, and vol- unteered with the figure skat- ing club while his daughters Karen and Julie were taking lessons. Now he is a life member of the volunteer fire ent, the Acton Minor Hockey As- sociation and the Acton Fig- ure Skating Club. Townsley and wife Doris celebrated their 50, wedding anniversary in 1998. They have four children, seven grandchildren and one great grandchild. Townsley will be hon- oured as the Rotary Club's Acton Citizen of the Year at a dinner at the Royal Canadian Legion Br. 197 later this spring.
