One student from each school is nominated by the principal for the annual award that recognizes outstanding ualities in Catholic leader- ship, family commitment, in- volvement in school and community activities and commitment toa difficult situ- ation. St. Joseph's principal Jim McGeragle said Kasia was a natural choice, describing her as a "sweetheart" who stands out as one who participates in all aspects of the school and community. The judges awarded prizes to the top three in each cat- egory and gold and silver medallists are eligible to ad- vance to Halton technical Skills Competitions until May 10th at various schools throughout Halton.
