BOYES PLUMBING Water Softener Rentals ~ Water Pump Service 1350 THE NEW TANNER IDA aAaY Two clubs involved in Seniors Dinner To the Editor, We appreciate your cover- age of the Seniors' Christmas Dinner. However, we need to recognize that this is a joint effort by our Royal Canadian Legion and the Rotary.Club of Acton. The members of Branch 197 provide the hall, order the food, prepare and cook the meal and once everyone leaves they remain to clean up and wash the dishes. When one considers that 300 seniors were fed a complete turkey dinner with all the trimmings, one realizes the enormous contribution made by our Legion members. As an active member of both the ~ Legion and Rotary, who served on the joint organizing committee for this event, I am extremely conscious of and sensitive to the unrecognized contribution of my Legion comrades. In closing, I would point out that as well as providing a festive evening for our seniors -- my comrades at the Legion and my fellow Rotarians presented the Salvation Army with cheques in the amount of $300 each. This $600 contribution will beused for this year's Christmas Hamper Program. Yours very truly, Peter Van Dam TRY THE NEW TANNER! For Local News, Current Issues, Sports, Classified and much more!
