The Bonspiel will include two games with six ends each. Each team can have up to six players with a mixture of men and women. Only four players throw stones per end. "We want everyone to enjoy themselves and have a day of fun," said Bill Manes, one of the event organizers. No curling experience is necessary. All members of the community are encouraged to participate. The first draw will start at 9 a.m. Cost is $45 per person, which includes lunch, dinner, prizes and two six-end games of curling. The team be- gan the tournament with a game against Sault Ste Marie. Friday night. Acton played a solid game and left with a 4-0 victory. Player of the game for Acton went to Dylan Agnew - who scored two goals. Nick Eagan and Lucas Molinaro rounded out the scoring. As- sists in the game went to Michael Courvoisier, Jesse Spurrell and Jake Lewis. The second game on Sat- urday morning was a nail-biter against Midland. Acton opened the scoring mid-way through the first with a goal by Josh Kaitlyn wins Silver Medal Kaitlyn Andrews com- peted at the Ontario Bantam, Midget and Junior Indoor Track and Field Champion- ships on Sunday, Feb. 22. Competing in Junior, which is one age group above her level, Kaitlyn won the silver medal witha put of 11.36 metres. The gold meal was won by Megan Weaver of London. Player of the game for Acton went to Jesse Harris who was solid between the pipes and made a lot of key saves. The third game was do or die for Acton who needed a win to advance to the final Sunday. Acton faced Essa and fans were in for another tight game. Essa opened up the scoring with a goal late in the first period and the hard-hitting Essa team looked like they were going to over power the smaller Acton boys. Acton woke up in the sec- ond period and started to really take it to Essa with their own brand of physical play. Nick Eagan who had been moved back to defence tied the game up and with 29 seconds left in the second pe- riod Courvoisier scored a great backhand goal to give Acton a 2-1 lead.
