THURSDAY, SEPTEMBER 9, 2004 TFT a ity ROL: John, 90, Sidney BC, passed away Monday Septem- ber 6, 2004, at home of natural causes. John was born on April 7, 1914 in Kromminie, in the Netherlands and was the hus- band of Pearl Rol for 67 years. Jack (John) was.a former mem- ber of St. Alban's Church in Acton and the former owner of Caroline Nurseries. a garden centre in Acton, Ont. for many years .. Jack and Pearl moved to Sidney BC in 1984 where he enjoyed the outdoors, espe- cially working with plants and composting and he was an avid stamp collector, Jack belonged to Holy Trinity Anglican Church and was active in the men's club, collecting for the food bank, operation eyesight, cooking for the men's break- fast and helping with the church sales. Although he had no children of his own, he was a wonderful uncle to several nephews and nieces in Ontario, and several loving cousins in Sidney and Oregon (to whom he was like a second father), he also leaves Marian, a be- loved cousin in Plymouth, England and many loved rela- tives throughout the United States. He is survived by his wife Pearl. Jack will be cre- «mated according to his wishes and a memorial service will be on Friday September 10 at Holy Trinity Anglican church in North Saanich, BC. Jack re- quested that donations may be made to the Canadian National Institute for the Blind or Op- eration Eyesight. Jack was loved dearly and will be missed by all. Li] .
