Lucky winners of draws at the bazaar were Betty Dunn who won the porcelain doll with lucky 16. The Maple Leaf hockey shirt was won by Maureen ? with ticket 38, and the door prize (a plant) was won by Leonard Jones. -- Submitted photo. ACTON SENIORS' RECREATION CENTRE By JuLIE Conroy The Christmas tree deco- rating party was well attended starting the season off with a Bang!! The Centre is starting to look quite fes- tive between the tree and the other decorations. Everyone enjoyed the goodies at the end of all the hard work and the winner of the draw for the beautiful Christmas angel was ticket 36 Joan Knott. If you would like to enjoy viewing some of the beauti- ful homes and decorations around our town from the comfort of the bus, there will be two buses touring Acton on Thursday, Dec. 16. This is open to all seniors, caregivers, and handicapped people compliments of Tyler Travel, and the Acton Senior Centre. The buses will be picking up at Birchway apartments, Elizabeth Drive apartments, and the apartments on the corner of Church and Maria. You must pre-register, at the centre, either in person, or by phone. If you have special needs please make us aware, so we can arrange a handi- capped bus. In the Bid Euchre on Nov. 18 the Mooner was Joan Bateman. Congratulations, Joan. Margaret Nielson, tells me the carpet bowling was enjoyed by everyone (espe- cially the ladies) and Betty Blain's team won by 11 points. Black team 17, Brown team 6. On Friday afternoon the hiking group went to Hilton Falls; they took sunflower seeds with them hoping to encourage the chickadees to visit. The less energetic peo- ple, after lunch, enjoyed a game of Bingo at the centre. All members celebrating their birthdays in December are invited to the Birthday Tea on Tuesday, December 7 at 2 p.m. Don't forget you may bring a friend if you wish. Those who enjoy baking will be glad to know that the annual Cookie Exchange takes place on Tuesday, Dec. 14. The number of cookies you bring are exchanged for an equal amount other peo- ple have made. What a great way to get an assortment of cookies, without having to bake all those different kinds. Thinking of baking, for those who don't like cooking, or haven't the patience or skill? The delicious individual beef or chicken pies that are made right here at the Centre will be on sale again in Janu- ary. If you are interested and would like more information just ask at the front desk. Thinking of the front desk it is nice to see so many new faces answering the phone and greeting people when they arrive, as well as the fa- miliar faces who have manned the desk for many years. "Thank you," ladies. You are the first contact for new members and a friendly greeting and smile certainly ee 'AY Dad & Leah. With Love Mom,]|' makes you feel very wel- come. There won't be a trip to Rama in December, and the next one is scheduled for Wednesday, Jan. 26, 2005. I would like to say thanks to the Tanner staff for all their help whether it is pictures that aren't in focus, or deadlines I am having problems meet- ing. The 50/50 was finally won by Mary Walsma. It was worth $290.50. TREE PARTY: Acton Sen- iors take time for a break and admire their handi- work after a Christmas Tree Decoration Party last week.
