Town contributes $2,500 to Tsunami relief agencies Mayor Rick Bonnette announced Monday that the Town of Halton Hills will respond to the tragedy in South East Asia by contributing $1,250 to World Vision and $1,250 to the Red Cross. The mayor, with council's support, also urged individuals to contribute to relief agencies of their choice. "We called him right away -- thank goodness for cell phones -- and we woke him up actually. He hadn't felt the earthquake and he turned on the local news and there was nothing on it about the earthquake," said Scott's dad, Peter MacDon- ald, on Monday. Scott phoned his parents back four or five hours later to say that they were bring- ing some of the survivors to his area and it was "pretty bad."
