Arts Week is a grand celebration of the arts, featuring a variety of events representing an in- credible local arts scene. The Arts Week com- mittee invites artists to participate in one of the following ways: They can be part of the Studio Tour. Studios will be open to the public both weekends. Local artists are invited to share dis- play space or studio tour space with fellow artists. An opportunity also ex- ists for the public to view artists creating their art at a planned exhibition at the Georgetown Mar- ketplace-. Barb VanSickle is head- ing up a children's arts display at the George- town Marketplace and will be contacting local schools for participants. Barb, an Acton artist and former Art teacher at Acton High School, is also hoping to promote participation from Acton visual artists and per- forming groups. Last season, residents enjoyed several excit- ing performances by Georgetown Little The- atre, Georgetown Globe Productions, Georgetown Bach Chorale, George- town Children's Chorus, and Georgetown Choral Society. This year, the committee hopes that local dance studios and other performing arts groups will join in. There will also be an opportunity for artists to participate in Arts Week even if they aren't on the studio tour by entering the regional Juried Art Show to be held April 21 at the Halton Hills Cul- tural Centre.
