Every- one enjoyed the dinner and especially the accordion music provided by Peter Bauman. He played many of the sentimental songs, which was especially ap- propriate for a Valentine affair. One couple, Dob- bie and Pat Frizzell, were Police/Fire... Continued from page 8 Road home for carbon mon- oxide alarm activation at 4:13 last Tuesday, found no signs of the gas. The homeowner was told to clean the detector and replace it, if it activated again. White pre-trial The owner of Smallwood Acres trailer park in Acton appears in an Oakville court on March 11 for a pre-trial hearing. Kenneth Doyle White, 65, was charged on July 22, 2004, with two counts of sexual assault and two counts of sexual interfer- ence in connection with alleged incidents at the Fairy Lake park. A court official said the hearing would determine if the case would be heard in celebrating their 52nd wedding anniversary, and to the delight of everyone there, he played a special song just for them. Jean Jackson, Anna Ar- nold and Shirley Broostad won the lucky ticket draw, and Anna Armold won the 50/50 at the dinner. The winner of the beautiful 5" Avenue Bracelet was Betty Holmes. Everyone is invited to meet our local federal rep- resentative, Mike Chong, at the Centre on Thursday, March 3 at 2 p.m. He will be available to answer any questions or concerns you may have. Now is the opportunity to get the answers to all the ques- tions you have regarding the country and your con- cerns. Refreshments will be served following the meeting. March | from 1.30- 2.30p.m. could be a very important date for you, or someone you know. It is all about Lifelines. We have a speaker coming to the Centre who will demon- strate its usage and answer all questions. There is no charge for this important event, and refreshments will follow. Another exciting event planned by Marj and her hard working committee is a Spring Fashion Show by Alia. This would be the perfect opportunity to check out what is new for 2005 and make a few addi- tions in your wardrobe. It (519) 85 ee wn Street East, Suite #10: TANNING PACKAGES -- from $29.99! VACATION PACKAGES is being held on Tuesday, March 15 at 2p.m. Tickets will be available at the desk. Cost is $3.00 and includes refreshments. Marj tells me she has something you won't want to miss the afternoon of March 29 starting at 1:30 p.m. One of our local busi- nesses, Blue Springs Spa will be here to demon- strate hair styling, cutting and care, plus cosmetics. Make-up to complement your colouring. Questions are welcome!! All this for a Tooney!! Friday February 25 is the regular soup and sandwich and costs $5. It is always excellent, and, yes, dessert is included. Three members of the hiking club revisited the Limehouse trail on Friday and enjoyed the walk. Next week they hope to walk part of the Guelph Trail that runs just west of Acton. The first pick-up of the Halton Fresh Food Boxes was last week and 34 peo- ple took advantage of this great idea. The boxes were full of fresh vegetables and fruit, and very well received. It cost $12 for a small box suitable for one or two people, and $15 for a larger one. Pat AESTHETICS Boe Acton We're your answer for your Vacation Preparation! COOKIE SALES: Members of the 2nd Acton Guides, and one Brownie, sold Girl Guide __ cookies at Acton arena on Saturday. With encouragement from leaders Leslie Walker (back right) and Sheri Phelan, Guide Victoria Walker supplied Rockwood's Mary-Anne Azzopardi with her box. -- Frances Niblock photo Frizzell has taken on the task of co-coordinating this project and orders are to be placed March | for the next delivery. Betty Green tells me she still has some seats avail- able to see the Royal City Ambassadors Barbershop Chorus presentation of Juke Box Harmony in Guelph at the River Run Theatre on April 9. She is planning on a bus and knowing how hard it is to park (and how expensive) the bus makes it a great deal. The lucky winner of the weekly 50/50 was Lor- raine Fox. It hadn't been won for several weeks so it was quite a nice little surprise. Don't forget if you don't put a loonie in the box you can't win.
