In the Level 1, under 0 cat- egory Jesse Bydevaate placed an overall 4th; Corey Gilles received a gold medal on vault, silver medal on floor with an overall 9th place; Gregory Listor received a tie for silver medal on floor with an overall 13th position; Zachary Brau- tigan placed overall 14th and Robert Stepner placed overall 15th. In the Level 1, 10 - 12 cat- egory, Wesley Smith placed overall 22nd. In the Level 2, 13 plus category, Adam Griese received a gold on P-Bars, a bronze on vault with an overall bronze medal; Alex Bowmer received a gold medal on High Bar, bronze medal on vault with an overall 7th place. In the Level 3, 13 plus cate- gory, Marc de Lestard received a silver medal on Pommel, silver medal on P-Bars with an overall 5th place; Daniel Stepner received a gold medal Aqua Ducks swim to many medals Jennifer Kroezen and TJ Waldie blew off some feathers at a Scarborough Swim Club Invitational. Both swimmers. missed the High Point awards for their respective age group by one point. Coach Gerry Ockenden com- mented that both Jennifer and TJ were so close, however it just was not going to happen that weekend. These types of lessons are not soon forgotten; next time they race they will remember this meet. All was not lost; they managed to fly past their competitors for a col- lection of five gold, four silver, and one bronze medal and as al-* ways, the most important thing was , according to Ockenden, they dropped their times. AHS athletes excel at Kingston track, field meet Four members of the Acton High School track and field team attended the 31 Queen's University Alumni Meet in Kingston on Satur- day, April 30 where 53 high schools were represented by 1200 athletes. Acton's athletes all placed in the top eight in the seven events despite another day of brutal weather and Kaitlyn Andrews also earned the Outstanding Female Field Athlete award. In the Midget Competi- tion: Matt Bigg placed 6" in the 800 metres at 2 minutes 22.82 seconds and also tied for 6" in the 1500 metres at 4 minutes 48 seconds. In Junior Competition: Dan Kearns earned a 4" place finish in the Shot Put with a heave of 12.13 metres. Dan also earned an 8" place finish in the Discus with a throw of 34.30 metres. Jaimi Fellows placed 7" in the High Jump making 1.45 metres. In Senior Competition: Kaitlyn Andrews earned two gold medals -- one in SPECIALS the Discus (36.75 metres) and the other in the Shot Put (12.58 metres). These perfor- mances also earned Kaitlyn the Courtright Award as the Outstanding Female Field Athlete of the meet.
