Lyme Disease has been acknowledged To the editor, Long Point is one of Ontar- io's most known regions for this disease. The Provincial Park posts signs and hands out pamphlets to the campers warning them and instruct- ing them on how to protect themselves. The Ministry of Wild Life even organize a killing of the deer ever so often to try and prevent-the disease from spreading. As summer residents of Long Point, we personally get tested regularly for Lyme disease at our doctor in Halton Hills. We even get our dog tested. It is a simple blood test covered by OHIP. However, the vets do charge a nominal fee. B & M Goldie, Rockwood Rotary says Thanks To the editor, President Herb Dodds and the members of the Rotary Club of Acton wish to express their heartfelt appreciation to everyone who turned out in support of our Gala Auction and Dinner on Friday, April 22. This event is a significant fund raiser for our charitable endeavours within the community. This year is the 100 Anniversary of Rotary International and the support was all the more significant as we prepare to.embark on our proposed Centennial Project of an open-air band shell in Prospect Park. Once again, our thanks to the community for their sup- port and to The New Tanner for their significant coverage of this event. Yours very truly, Bob MacKinnon.
