Photo by Eamonn Maher Witnesses provide key information Two suspected in RBC bank hold-up Police have arrested one man and are obtaining a warrant for the arrest of another in connection with a robbery at the Royal Bank in downtown Georgetown Wednesday afternoon. Halton Police responded to the Main St. S. bank at approximately 1:10 p.m., shortly after a lone white man had entered the bank and given a teller a note demanding money. The note implied the suspect had a weapon although none was seen. The man was given an undisclosed amount of money and he fled with the note to an awaiting vehicle. With the assistance of several witnesses who provided detailed information police located the getaway vehicle, determined to have been recently stolen from Mississauga, in the underground parking lot at a Park Ave. apartment building. After further investigation by the Halton Police street crime unit in Georgetown, and with the assistance of Peel Police, a man was taken into custody in the Dundas St. and Cawthra Rd. area of Mississauga.
