Help Georgetown be `Hockeyville' Georgetown's bid to become Hockeyville 2006 forges on with two more requests of local residents to show their support for the CBC reality-TV show campaign. As part of the criteria for the Kraft-sponsored cross-country contest, local bid organizers must put together a two-minute video, demonstrating why any one of the 50 show finalists should be voted in as the winner by viewers and get to host an NHL pre-season game in September. This Sunday at noon, Georgetown's atom AA Raiders will play Uxbridge at Memorial Arena in game three of their best-of-five Ontario Minor Hockey Association championship series and the Georgetown Hockeyville organizers want to fill the stands with enthusiastic red-and-white support. Kraft Hockeyville 2006 debuts on Wednesday, March 29 on CBC, and on that show, a list of 50 Canadian communities contending for the title will be unveiled. Each of those entries will have their two-minute video presentation aired on either the April 12 or 19 episodes, with viewers voting on-line for their choice. Georgetown bid organizers are also asking residents to "briefly" answer some questions via e-mail to pearcefamily1@cogeco.ca to help with the bid: · What is your favourite Georgetown hockey moment? · What is your funniest Georgetown hockey moment? · What is your most heart-warming Georgetown hockey moment? · Why should Canada vote for Georgetown?
