Female driver pulled over by man posing as police officer A Milton woman was pulled over while driving on Trafalgar Rd. Monday morning by a man Halton Police believe was posing as a police officer. At approximately 8:45 a.m. police say the 33-year-old woman was driving northbound on Trafalgar Rd. north of 5 Sideroad when she was stopped by a man in a maroon vehicle. The vehicle had red lights on the dash and the roof that were activated, and she believed it was a police vehicle. She said the man, who was wearing a dark-coloured uniform, approached her car. He did not identify himself and asked the woman how often she traveled the road alone. When she asked the man if he was a police officer he didn't respond and walked back to his car. She drove off. The man is described as 5'10", white, with short black hair. He was wearing a dark uniform with stripes down his pant legs, a black jacket and aviator-style sunglasses. He had no identifying patches on his sleeves. The man did not identify himself as a police officer but gave the impression he was one, say police. They caution anyone who is stopped to ask for identification if they have any doubt about the person's identity. Anyone with information is asked to call police at 905-878-5511 ext. 2106. ··· Police are looking for a man they believe was involved in two incidents in Acton earlier this week. At approximately 2 p.m. Monday police report a 35-year-old woman was walking in the Main St. S. and Brock St. area of Acton when she was approached by a man in a newer-model white van. The van pulled alongside her and the man asked her if she wanted a ride. She declined several times while he continued to offer her a ride. Eventually he left. Police believe the same man approached a 23-year-old Acton woman while she was walking in the area of Church and Willow Sts. Tuesday afternoon. In that incident, which occurred at approximately 1:40 p.m., the woman was also approached by a man in a newer-model white van. As in the incident Monday, the van pulled up alongside her and the man offered her a ride several times, despite the fact she continued to decline the offers. Eventually he left. The man in both incidents is described as white, in his 60s or 70s, with grey hair and a moustache. A yellow ribbon "Navy" magnet or sticker was seen on the rear of the white van. The items are valued at $1,500.
