The invoicing associate at the local store was recently chosen to represent the associates in the Georgetown store at the 2005 Wal-Mart shareholders meeting to be held June 2 in Fayetteville, Arkansas. The company-funded trip will include a tour of the Wal-Mart head office in Bentonville, Arkansas, free concerts by top performers, a visit to the Wal-Mart Museum and a supplier product fair. McBurney will also have the chance to share ideas with top executives of the company including Wal-Mart Canada president and CEO Mario Pilozzi. "I am really excited about the opportunity to travel to join my fellow global associates and to represent our Georgetown Wal-Mart," said McBurney, a Wal-Mart employee for two years. "The associates and managers in my store have challenged me to share some of our best ideas, but I also plan to bring ideas home and to share the experience with the whole store when I return."
