10 Independent & Free Press, Wednesday, May 31, 2006 Power walk raises $2,500 Stroke victim Lauren Boyce of Georgetown completed her 28 km Stroke of Power Walk Saturday from Halton Hills Civic Centre to the Erinoak Treatment Centre in Mississauga, and did the walk (from Erinoak to Halton Hills) again on Sunday. In total she raised more than $2,500 for the treatment centre, which provides rehabilitation and support services for children and young adults. Boyce received multiple therapies at the treatment centre over the years. Normally it's difficult for me to take those "personal calls" at the office, but for some reason this one felt different. "I'll be right there Patricia", I bellowed while leaving the ultrasound room. "Dr. Madarasz I know you're busy but I just wanted to let you know that after the adjustments you did last week, well, I haven't felt like that for years. I was going to stop coming in since I felt so good but it occurred to me that maybe it would take time for my body to begin to transform and if I stopped now we would probably have to start all over again!" My heart started pounding to hear those words of understanding and revelation. Did I really hear right? "You know I also realized that if I'm to take care of myself and my family to the best of my ability than I need to ensure that I'm in great physical health. And by the way, I went three days straight without a headache. Do you think it was the adjustments? My husband also told me that I `looked different!'." More waves of excitement began to run through my body. "Mary, that's fantastic, I gotta go, I'll see you this afternoon." You know it's interesting, twenty-five years ago I thought adjustments were only good for back pain. P.S. I'm still taking those "personal calls."
