The inaugural Summer's Here Junior Horse Show will take place at the Halton Place Equestrian Show Grounds this weekend, a different event than most other horse shows in that it is open exclusively to junior athletes (aged 18 and under). "The juniors deserve a show where they can come and be the stars of the show instead of having to constantly play second fiddle to the pros, many of whom are their own coaches. Here they will get a chance to truly shine, while still competing at a safe, fun, well-run and top-quality event," said show manager Christiane Krohn. Sponsors such as Merial Canada and Pro-Chaps Limited have jumped on board to offer prize money and awards in support of the young athletes. Merial will be presenting the 1.1m Merial Jumper Classic on Sunday at 1 p.m., and Pro-Chaps is introducing its "Pro-Chaps Grand Champions" awards at the culmination of the event. Victor Pek and John Leckie scored fourth-quarter touchdowns to rally the Wildcats from a 20-0 half-time deficit, but it wasn't enough as the Toronto Jr. Argos hung on for the 20-14 victory to hand Halton Hills its first loss of the Ontario Minor Football League season last Sunday. The Jr. Argos took advantage of three Wildcats turnovers to storm out to the 20-0 lead. But the game's turning point came late in the first half when the Halton Hills offence stalled and turned the ball over on downs at the Toronto two-yard line. The Argos managed to march the length of the field to register the touchdown and two-point convert for the 20-0 advantage. Pek got the Wildcats on the scoreboard midway through the fourth, hauling in a Simon Treviranus pass and scampering 60 yards for the toucdown.
