Local students to attend JA conference Two local students were rewarded for their hard work in the Junior Achievement Company Program with trips to our nation's capital this summer for a convention. Miko Uy and Gaby Alanes will attend the Canadian Junior Achievement National Conference in Ottawa thanks to their experience with the Dynamic Innovative Association of Students, a program consisting of 26 local students who met at Christ the King on Tuesday nights through the school year. The program brings together students of all grades who want to hone their business skills and the DIAS JA company at Christ the King chose to create and sell variations of a decorated mug filled with chocolate products. Uy was president of the local DIAS project and this will be her second trip to the CANJAC conference, which is attended by students around the world. Alanes is in her first year in the JA Company Program Also at this year's JA Evening of Excellence event, four students were awarded perfect attendance pins-- Matt van Kessel, Keith van Kessel, Mike Fargiorgio and Anthony Pignataro.
