He made several recommendations to the provincial government. In my column, I said that I hope the Province will act upon them, and not just file the report. Good news for local taxpayers, as the provincial government has now announced they are going to freeze property assessments for two years. As Martha Stewart would say, "that is a good thing". However, the Province must act on Mr. Marin's 22 recommendations or else the whole exercise will be a waste of time. ··· Halton Hills is pleased that the Canadian Motorsport Hall of Fame has relocated from Toronto to Halton Hills. Period-era race cars will be on display at the new home located at Legendary Motor Cars, 8242 Fifth Line. Admission is only $5. For car buffs, this is a must-see. You can see cars that were driven by Greg Moore and Jacques Villeneuve, as well as many others. ··· Halton Hills council recently approved one of the most comprehensive documents supporting our local farmers. This report was presented to council as a result of two meetings where myself and members of council engaged the farming community within Halton Hills. I'd like to take this opportunity to thank all the farmers, councillors, and staff who participated in the worthwhile workshops. Rick Bonnette ··· We've already had a few "heat alerts" this summer. If you need relief from the heat, you are encouraged to use the Town's cooling stations that are located in the arenas, libraries, Civic Centre, and the Gellert Community Centre. Remember to drink lots of water. ··· Speaking of water, Fernbrook Springs Bottled Water Company, one of our new industries along the 401 Corridor, is in full operation and its water is for sale in many of the larger grocery stores. Last week, while at the cottage, I was in a grocery store and noticed a gentleman buying cases of Fernbrook Springs water from Halton Hills, Ontario.
