His peddles locked, causing his foot to come off his peddle; this sent him flying to the pavement and he sustained trauma to his body and his head. Thankfully his friends Mitchell and Jason were with him. Both boys handled the situation very well; they called us immediately telling where they were and that Wesley was hurt very badly. We arrived within minutes, and both boys were keeping Wesley calm. Our son is a severe hemophiliac, who has had subdural hemorrhages before, so each passing minute can be very important. We took Wesley to Georgetown Hospital and later they transferred him to Sick Kids in Toronto for a C.T. of his head. After a few days Wesley is feeling much better; however, if he wasn't wearing a helmet (that broke his fall), or the boys hadn't reacted as fast as they did, things may have been much worse. We would like to thank the doctor and nurses at Georgetown Hospital, the paramedics that transferred Wesley to Sick Kids, the staff at Sick Kids, but we would really like to thank Mitchell and Jason, not only for being Wesley's friends but for how they responded in such a bad situation.
