Georgetown Seniors plan trips to Stratford, Niagara in the fall FLORENCE RIEHL Georgetown Seniors Centre Can you believe how fast summer is flying by? Most people have welcomed the break in the humidity. Methinks there is a feeling a fall creeping in. It was nice to see Adriana drop into the Centre a week or so ago. It was her first day of driving. She looks great and very appreciative of all the cards and well wishes she received. We welcome Wendy, co-ordinator of the Acton Seniors Centre, who is taking over Adriana's position at the Georgetown Centre until the Town appoints another. Let's all try to make her feel at home. It will be quite a task for her to take on the two centres. She will certainly need all our help. I was talking to Grant, the travel man, about some trips coming up in the fall. He tells me all the seats for the Mystery Trip on October 6th have been sold. The trip to Stratford on Oct. 26th to see South Pacific has been sold out for some time. If you are unable to honour your ticket, let Grant know as soon as possible. He has 14 people on a waiting list. Stratford has extended South Pacific for six weeks. If there are enough people interested in going, Grant may be able to take a second bus. He will need to know your intentions ASAP. He has tentatively set up a bus to go to Niagara Casino on Sept. 20th or 22nd. Price and confirmation to follow if enough show an interest. The fall and winter "Great Canadian" catalogue is now available from the Travel Desk. All Great Canadian tours can be booked through Grant as well. The new Hilltop paper will be coming out soon. You are reminded to pick it up. Look it over carefully and give some serious thought as to what programs you would like to take part in. Getting involved is a great way to pass away the dreaded winter. This is just a short report to keep you up to date on summer happenings at the Georgetown Seniors Centre. My next column, in a couple of weeks, will have lots of news about the start of another busy season.
