Acton brothers to clip hair in support of ailing cousin Five Acton brothers will "trim their headge" Saturday in support of their six-year-old cousin from Sault Ste. Marie who suffers from Dechennes Muscular Dystrophy. The "Buzz for Ben" will be held from 10 a.m.-4 p.m. in a tent set up at M&M Meat Shops at 352 Queen St. E. Brothers Noah, 10, Jesse, 9, Aaron, 7, and twins Elijah and Jonah, 3, will have their hair cut with proceeds going to Muscular Dystrophy Canada. Mandy Dixon of Mandy's Hair Creations will also buzz the locks of anyone wishing to join in the hair-cutting for a $10 donation. There will also be a charity barbecue. The event coincides with the Jerry Lewis MD telethon this weekend and September is also Muscular Dystrophy Awareness month. United Way's annual ball set for Saturday, Sept. 9 The United Way of Halton Hills is holding its annual President's Ball on Saturday, September 9 at Blue Springs Golf & Country Club in Acton. The ball includes a meal, silent auction and dancing. This year's prizes include a stay at a summer home in Prince Edward Island, sports tickets, spa packages, fitness memberships and admissions to various Toronto area attractions. Only 15 tables of eight are available this year-- so get your tickets soon! Tickets are $70 each and tables of eight are $560. Businesses that purchase tables before the end of August will be recognized in the event program.
