Fall fair a safe and fun event I am happy to report to you that last weekend's 160th Georgetown Fall Fair went splendidly as the weather co-operated for most of the event. I had the pleasure of working two nights at the fair, and it was my mission to ensure the maintenance of public safety while preventing personal injury and/or property damage. I had the opportunity to speak to more than 20 visitors to the Police Mobile Command Unit, most of whom were youths interested in policing, which is reassuring during this time where we are seeking increased police recruitment. I am grateful to contribute to our community as a police officer, and when an event like the 160th fall fair comes together as it did, I am proud to have been involved. I personally would like to thank all those community-minded persons who took the time from their lives to promote a safe and enjoyable fall fair, and I would also like to thank all those people who simply attended the event, and took the time to stop and thank myself, my col- Const. Chris Borak leges and the many, many community volunteers. In my opinion, the community coming together at an event like this makes Halton Hills the number one place to live and work. See you next year. Contact me personally for crime prevention tips at 905-878-5511 extension 2470, or by emailing chris.borak@hrps.on.ca. Please reserve the 911 system for emergency calls only. --Const. Chris Borak is the community support officer for District 1
