Arts event part of anniversary celebration Halton Hills Library & Cultural Centre marks its Silver Anniversary with a nine-day celebration of the arts, between Friday, Oct. 13 and Sunday, Oct. 22. The 25th Anniversary Art Exhibition starts with The Beginning A Look Back on display in the community window at Young's Pharmacy & Homecare, 47 Main St. S. in Georgetown until Oct. 13 Featured are the first art exhibition shows from well-known artists Frank Black, Marjorie Nazer, Robert Bateman, Ken Danby, Jack Reid, John Hall, Barbara Howard, Andreas Drenters and Tony Meers, and the inaugural Photo Art Show. Artists and artisans have been invited to enter one or two works for The Many Faces of Halton Hills. The theme of the exhibition is Halton Hills, its people, settlements, landscapes, valleys, its wildlife, historic buildings, roadways and railways. Artists may submit their works on October 10, 4-7 p.m. at the Gallery of the Halton Hills Library and Cultural Centre. The public exhibition will run from October 13-30 in the Gallery. All artwork will be for sale. Arts in Motion will be held on October 21, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. when artists will demonstrate their skills and be available to provide information on how you can become more creatively involved within the community.
