Truck rams way through two yards Halton Police say no one was injured in this crash Wednesday morning that occurred on Guelph St. just east of Main St. when the driver of the tanker truck, that was hauling 20 tons of salt eastbound on Guelph St., lost control and went off the roadway at approximately 8:15 a.m. The tanker crossed a sidewalk and barrelled through two yards (below left) before demolishing a garage. Photos by John McGhie Residents shaken, but escape unhurt LISA TALLYN Staff Writer Marilyn and Bruce Ritchie were shocked when they saw a tanker truck roll slowly by the kitchen window at the rear of their daughter's Guelph St. home Wednesday morning. "Both of us assumed it was a cement truck. We thought the neighbours were maybe having cement delivered for some reason," said Marilyn Ritchie, who with her husband Bruce, were babysitting their grandson at their daughter and son-in-law's Melissa and Brian Beisel's home. But when the truck smashed through the Beisels' garage they knew that likely wasn't the case and Bruce Ritchie rushed outside to make sure the driver was okay. Halton Police say no one was injured in the crash that occurred on Guelph St. just east of Main St. when the driver of the tanker truck, that was actually hauling 20 tons of salt eastbound on Guelph St., lost control and went off the roadway at approximately 8:15 a.m. See TRUCK, pg. 3
