Helen MacCormack is new president Chamber ushers in new board Halton Hills Chamber of Commerce has a new board of directors. The 2006/2007 board of directors was voted in at the Chamber's recent annual general meeting. The newly elected president is Helen MacCormack, of Acton, a certified financial planner and branch manager for Partners in Planning Georgetown. MacCormack has been actively involved with the Chamber for six years. She has also been involved with Literacy North Halton and Litter Free Halton Hills task force. "I'm looking forward to working with our board and our community to move business forward," said MacCormack. "Halton Hills is a growing community with lots of opportunities for both large and small businesses." MacCormack said the Chamber seeks out potential board members with deep community roots, knowledge of local business issues and concerns, and a vision for the Chamber. "We are fortunate to have found four such people at one time, and the Chamber will certainly benefit from their expertise," said MacCormack. New directors beginning a three-year term include Cor Baarda, John Drewry, Wendy Farrow Reed and Gary Steffensen. Returning directors include Sharon Arnold, Tina Gilbert, Jamie Schumacker, Pat McLeod, Norm Paget, Dale Holman, Wendy Hue and Melaine McCracken.
