Police blotter Cash, credit cards taken Halton Police report two vehicles on Gollop Cr. were entered sometime late Friday or early Saturday. A wallet and credit cards were taken from a 2006 GMC Yukon, and $30 in coins was taken from a 2005 Acura. Both vehicles were unlocked. ··· A rock was thrown through the window at Preston's Variety Store on Confederation St. Saturday morning. There was no entry into the store. Damage is estimated at $1,000. ··· Approximately $300 worth of items were taken during a break and enter at Acton High School early Saturday morning. Entry was gained through an unlocked cafeteria door. Taken from a display case were a wooden Trojan shield and Styrofoam Celtic cross and $200 worth of candy from a vending machine that had been smashed. Police responded to an alarm at the school, but no one was found when they arrived. ··· A locked 1996 Ford Windstar van was stolen from the parking lot at Georgetown Market Place Friday between 10:15 and 11:15 a.m. The van is valued at $5,000. Car seat clinic Saturday Halton Hills Fire Protection and Prevention Services, in conjunction with Canadian Tire, is hosting a car seat inspection clinic Saturday (Oct. 28) from 10 a.m.-1 p.m. Car seats will be inspected to ensure they are correctly installed at the clinic, which will be held in the Georgetown Canadian Tire parking lot. Inspections will be done by appointment and there will also be some drop-in spaces available. The event is hosted as part as the Ontario Fire Marshal's Public Fire & Life Safety Council and in partnership with Co-operator's Insurance. To book an inspection appointment time call 905825-6000. Spaces are limited.
