Humorous speakers compete in Halton Hills NANCY McDONALD Halton Hills Toastmasters This year Halton Hills Toastmasters had the privilege of hosting the Toastmasters Annual Area Humorous Speech and Table Topics Contest. Four area clubs participated, Halton Hills, Milton, Meadowvale and Hershaw (Brampton). Representing Halton Hills in the Table Topics contest was Sherri Harris and in the Humorous Speech contest Debora Kirby and Shirley Bartle. The talent was unbelievable. The speeches were entertaining and humorous. In Table Topics contestants have two minutes to talk about a subject that they are given at that very moment. The contestants have to think quickly on their feet. First place went to Malik Majeed from Meadowvale Toastmasters, second place went to Vivian Lee from Hershaw Toastmasters and third to Alan Lahue from Milton Toastmasters. It is a very difficult task and all the contestants did a great job. The contestants who participated in the Humorous speech contest were amazing. True talent all around and the laughs could be heard from miles away. Participants had to prepare a 5-7 minute speech that would have the audience rolling in the aisles. They all succeeded.
