Twisters meet national stars Members of the North Halton Twisters' Peewee Bs were thrilled to be one of just three girls' youth hockey teams to be selected to spend an hour on the ice with Canada's national women's hockey squad at the recent Four Nations' Cup tournament in Kitchener. The Twisters were able to skate, chat, get advice and autographs from Team Canada as part of the `Skate with the Champions' program and took in a round-robin game with the Canadians playing the U.S. The Twisters' organization is preparing to host their annual tournament Nov. 24-26. Submitted photo Senior Rebels qualify for OFSAA The Georgetown senior Rebels are headed for another trip to the provincial high school volleyball championships after toppling Hamilton-area champion Thomas More on Wednesday in Steeltown at the Golden Horseshoe Athletic Conference Challenge. And the Rebels, who lost the Halton AAAA title to Oakville-Trafalgar last week, won't have to play in another GHAC qualifying match today (Friday) thanks to O-T's victory over St. Jean de Brebeuf on Wednesday in the other GHAC Challenge contest. Both Halton schools automatically earned berths at the OFSAA championships later this month in Barrie thanks to their wins on Wednesday.
