Deadline approaches for ArtsWeek signup Calling all artists! Are you interested in being part of ArtsWeek 2007? Friday, Dec. 15 is your last chance to sign up to be part of the annual spring festival. Last year, over 60 artists participated in ArtsWeek. The festival will be held from April 26 to May 6, 2007. A highlight will be "ArtsWeek in the Glen" May 4 to 6. Glen Williams will open its doors to a myriad of artists displaying or selling their work and performing artists who play and sell only original art forms. No prints, copies or goods made from commercial kits or moulds will be permitted. If you have a Halton Hills home address, work in town, or own a studio in Halton Hills, then you are eligible to belong. The cost to participate in the show will be $250. If you volunteer a minimum of 10 hours, the cost is reduced to $150. The premise of the show is a satire on what would life be like if you had to pay to use public toilets, so as a cute take on the show Michelle Giacometti who played Penelope Pennywise (the person who ran the only amenity in the bad part of town) stood by the washrooms at the theatre during intermission to collect change for anyone wanting to use the washroom. Globe collected $80 and will be donating the money to the Salvation Army. Photo submitted Globe to begin work on spring show Georgetown Globe Musicals presents Oliver! in May 2007 and is looking for adult lead and chorus parts as well as child/teenager lead and chorus parts born in 1998 or earlier. Auditions will take place the first and second weekends of January with callbacks shortly following. Please plan to attend our Information Night on Monday, December 11, 7:30-8:30 p.m. at St. Paul's Church in Norval (Winston Churchill just south of Hwy. 7) to hear about the production and be the first to sign up for an audition spot. Rehearsals start in mid-February and run on Wednesday and Friday evenings, and Sunday afternoons until the show starts in May. You must be available to attend all required rehearsals.
