St. John's United invites community to Christmas concert Once again this year during the festive season, the St. John's United Church choir is pleased to present a special concert of Christmas music. No sermons this coming Sunday (Dec. 17th)....just non-stop music celebrating Jesus' birth. The pews and aisles are always packed, but the more the merrier! With over 20 voices, the choir continues to be inspired and directed by Haydn Evans, St. John's Director of Music and Technology. The St. John's choir has developed a reputation for excellent music, having performed with the Elmer Isler Singers and with the internationally renowned baritone Russell Braun and his wife, talented pianist Carolyn Maule. "We still get excited every time we start rehearsing for the Christmas season. The choir is always enthusiastic, and this church sanctuary has the best acoustics around," says Evans. The Christmas concerts will be presented in St. John's United Church, 11 Guelph St., Georgetown, at 10 a.m. on Sunday, December 17 and again at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday, December 19. All are welcome. You don't have to belong to our church to join us for some great music, and a chance to pump up your Christmas spirit.
