Submitted photo Impact Black claim gold The Georgetown Impact Black under-14 girls' club volleyball team went undefeated on the way to earning the Bugarski Cup Tier II tournament recently in Brampton for its second gold medal performance of the 2006-07 season. Playing its best volleyball of the year, the Georgetown side swept through the preliminary round, knocked off the Durham Attack in the semifinals and then Durham Region in the final. Impact Black also captured the Provincial Cup title in November. Next up are the Ontario Volleyball Association Championships April 21-22. Meanwhile, after roaring through the preliminary round without losing a set, Georgetown Impact Red under-14s dropped a close match to Waterloo in the semifinals and had to settle for bronze medals at the Bugarski Cup Zone A competition in Kitchener. The Impact Red defeated Forest City 2624, 25-11, Twin Bridges 25-4, 25-9 and Riverside 25-13, 25-11 in pool play before getting edged by Waterloo in the semis 23-25, 25-16, 15-12. Georgetown bounced back in the consolation final, prevailing over South County 2125, 25-7, 15-11.
