John Day stars in Move Over Mrs. Markham If you are looking for a show that will make you laugh out loud, make room in your schedule to see Move Over Mrs. Markham. Century Church Theatre presents Move Over Mrs. Markham, written by Ray Cooney and John Chapman, directed by Bev Nicholas at the theatre on Main St., in Hillsburgh, March 22-24 and 2931 at 8 p.m. and March 31 at 2:30 p.m. The old expression "Two is company, three is a crowd" has a whole new twist at the Markham residence. When the Markhams' plans to go out for the evening are suddenly cancelled it causes an upheaval they never expected. When Philip Markham and his wife Joanna, played by John Day and Carol McCone, make plans to go out for the evening, word gets around to their friends. In a ploy to be with their lovers, both Linda Lodge and her husband Henry, played by Jo Hubbard and Dale Jones, secretly ask the Markhams to borrow their flat for the evening. Joanna agrees to let Linda borrow the flat for a secret rendezvous with her lover, Walter Pangbourne (Nick Holmes) unbeknownst to her husband Philip, who has also agreed to do the same for Henry who has arranged an evening with a telephone operator, Miss Wilkinson (Cris McKee). The Markhams' hired interior designer Alistair Spenlow (Bev Nicholas), learns of his employer's plans to vacate for the evening and determines this will be the night he confesses his adoration for the maid Sylvie (Shannon Smith). To everyone's surprise Philip decides to spend the evening at home, throwing in a wrench for all of their naughty little plans. Everyone is sent scurrying about the flat to prevent being discovered.
