Mayor wants trees saved Halton Hills Mayor Rick Bonnette has requested town staff look at ways to save trees on an Acton property slated for a commercial development. Bonnette made the request when council confirmed its approval of Official Plan and zoning bylaw amendments to allow a commercial plaza at the northwest corner of Tanners Dr. and Queen St. "They could be worth saving," suggested the mayor. Students and parents of St. Catherine of Alexandria and Christ the King schools will be especially affected by the board's transportation policy proposing to cancel school bus service in the Stewart's Mill and Arbor Glen area for the 2007-2008 school year.
