Legion honours veterans' service JUDY OERLEMANS Georgetown Legion news Sixteen new members were initiated during the Honours and Awards and Initiation Night held this winter. Our oldest vet, George Ridley, received his 20-year service pin. Mike Lorusso and William Rannachan were both on hand to receive their 60-year-pins. Comrade Doug Weir dropped off pins to those unable to attend: Dennis Wright (60 years), Don Burns (50 years), William Challice (50 years) and Stephen Gemesi (25 years). Thank you to the Ladies Auxiliary for serving the lovely ham dinner. Blind draw darts: Branch 120 Georgetown Legion is holding Blind Draw Darts every Friday night at the branch, 127 Mill St. Anyone with darts is welcome to come out and have fun starting at 7 p.m. Friday night euchre: 7:30 p.m. at Georgetown Legion. Admission: $2. Sample the Sweet Taste of Spring on April 7 The Limehouse Women's Institute is organizing the Sweet Taste of Spring to be held at the Limehouse Memorial Hall on Saturday, April 7, 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Pancakes, maple baked beans and maple sweets will be served. Baked goods and maple syrup will be available for sale. Adults $5, children, aged 6-12, $3, under 5 free. Proceeds to the hall fund.
