Famous guest to speak at Dessert Night On Monday April 23, from 7-9 p.m., the Georgetown Alliance Church will be hosting its annual Ladies Dessert Night, featuring a wide selection of tasty desserts and a special presentation by world-renowned speaker Kim Phuk an innocent victim of the Vietnam War. The famous photograph of nine-year-old Kim Phuk running down a road, taken by the Pulitzer Prize winning AP photographer, Hyung Cong Nick Ut, exposed the harsh cruelty of war. Kim Phuk will share her incredible strength and spirit as she speaks about forgiveness and world peace in the wake of tragedy and a life still inflicted by chronic pain. To attend an evening of thought-provoking discussion and inspiration tickets are available by calling Georgetown Alliance Church, 290 Main St. S., 905-873-0249.
