Willow Park Ecology Centre seeks help for its new spring season This season at the Willow Park Ecology Centre brings new projects and renewal of existing park features. The season opening Earth Day celebration will be held on Saturday, April 21, 9 a.m. to noon with the focus on the Butterfly Garden startup. Last year Evergreen Foundation funds were used to develop the new Community (organic) Gardens project. In the fall, volunteers built raised garden beds. This spring, WPEC is inviting, and looking for community groups to embrace this project to plant and harvest their own small plot possibly as a Theme Garden! Several community groups have already expressed interest. Workshop dates for the Community Gardens Project are: Groundbreaking, April 29; Watch it Grow, June 10; Early Harvest August 19 ; and Putting it to Bed, October 21. All workshops are 1-3 p.m. For information call 905-702-9055 or e-mail: wpec@willowparkecology.com
