For breaking news go to: www.independentfreepress.com Answering Siren's call While the adults and older kids may have been more interested in safety issues at the annual Risk Watch Summer Safety Blitz held at the Acton fire station Saturday, 18-month-old Zakkary Moore of Georgetown opted to make friends with Siren (alias volunteer Austin Wing), the Halton Region Emergency Medical Services mascot. The Safety Blitz hosted a variety of activities including a car seat clinic, bicycle rodeo and various prevention clinics. The yearly blitz is used to raise awareness among parents and children about injury prevention.
