The picuic and concert, that ii an- nually held at Eugenia in connection with tho Union Sabbath School, was held on the afternoon and evening of Thursday last. Although the heat prevented many attending the picnic, yet there was a largo number present. The concert at night was quite a suc- cess, il ha 1 leinj crtwled. The singing by the children of tl a Sabbath school was a surprise to a < great many, their young voices having received good training. The school Ims a rigl.t to be proud of its young choir. The Miss s McKee kindly as- sisted in the entertainment. Alto- ' gctler it was an enjoyable affair. The proceeds amounted to nine dollars and twenty cents. The organization of tho Presbyters i an church was hel \ hero on Friday j afternoon of last week, and on Sab- 1 bath afternoon tho sacrement of the Lord's suppcv was dispensed. Tho church starts with a membership of lifty or over. That shows how the labor of Mr.McLeaih has been blessed in this community. Ho labored hard during his stay amongst us, and we 'pe tint Presbyterian church of' ii^onia will be a blessing to this j.art of tho Lord's vineyard, and that Mr. McLeash may long be upared to be a blessing to all who listen to his e\h tatioii!'.
