Tom McKendie and Elwood Smart of Duncan visited friends in the vicinity over the week fend. Miss. A. Feighen is visiting over the hoidays with her parents at Kolapore. FEVERSHAM While Mrs. Samuel Hawton and Mrs. John Hawton of the sixth line of Nottawasaga, near the Batteau were driving Into CoUingwood on Sat- urday last their horse took fright at a car and bolted. One of the lines broke and he ran away, throwing both ladies out of the buggy, breaking Mrs. .Saw Hawton's leg in two places and also breaking Mrs John Hawton's leg. Much sympathy is expressed, as both adies are well known here. Mr. and Mrs. Sam Hawton were rais- ed in Osprey and lived on a farm near this village up until three years ago. Mr. and Mrs. John Hawton were also raised in Osprey and mov- ed to Nottawasaga from Rob Roy a few years ago. =. Miss Zella Long gave a party on her birthday, April 1st, when twenty- five of her girl friends assembled a^d enjjoyfid. themselves, all enacting Zella's treat of maple taffy and other good things. Zella received many beautiful presents from them, and aft.?r spending the evening in games and music dispersed, wishing her many happy returns of the day. Mr. Clarence Alexander has purch- atlod a car and now we will watch his smoke. Mr. T. W. Conron hs resigned his position as operator for the Osprey Telephone System. The commission- ers have rented a buiding for the central and will have to get another operator. Mr. Conron's resignation is to take effect on June 1st. Mr. Wilson of Kolopore has rent.?d the T. Howard farm on ' the twelfth line and has taken possession. Mr. John Ottewell Jr. has moved to the Thornbury farm on the 12th line, \rtemesia. Mr. Samuel Mullin has rented the Geo. A. Miller farm on the townline from Wm. Hendry. Two buggies collided on the 12th on Friday night, with the result that one of the occupants was thrown out adn slightly injured of course. It was dark and foggy. What will happen when Farguson's 4.4 beer comes on sale. We suppose it will be foggy every night then. ROCK MILLS The rains on Sunday and Monday wen3 quite welcome, as the land was very dry for seeding. If warm weather continues everything will be looking lovely and gi-een in a few days. The Durham Furniture Co. com- n-J3nced Monday to saw at their mill here and have a good stock of logs in. We like to hear the old whistle once more. Mr. Jas. Park of Owen Sound is back again as sawyer. Our teacher. Miss Harbison, is .-â- â- pending the Eastiar vacation at her home in Shelbume. Rev. H. B.
