Mi.ss Mary Aldcom of Regina -is visiting her home here. Mary has a host of friends who are glad to sec her again. Rev. Mr. Fowler of Waterfcrd. \ Pa., formerly of Flesherton, occupied the pulpit of the United church here on Sunday. Misses Alice Reiley and Anna Mc- Lean were operated on successfully for the removal cf their tonsils in Diirhar.i hosiptal on Thursday. Jlr. H. B. McLean was also operated on for adenoids. We are pleased to say that they are all doing nicely. A miscellaneous shower and dance was held on Tuesday night of last week at the home of Mr. anod STrs. C. A. McLean in honor of the newly- weds, IVIr. and Mrs. X. A. McLean. This popular -young couple were the recipients of many beautiful an<l use- ful 'gifts, as well as many good wishes for fu'.ure happiness. A very enjoyable evening was spent in music •and dancing. Quite a number from here attended the sports in Flesherton on the 9th, and also the Orange ce!ebratit)n in Dundalk on Monday. The Presbyterian Sabbath school held a very sucecssful picnic on the school grounds on Friday afternoon. The day was ideal and a large crowd of children and adults turned out to enjoy the day. A giirls' Softball game was played between Swinton Park and Bunessan, which was quite interesting, the latter winning by a fev/ runs. Football, Softball, races and other games fully occupied the time, until lunch was served, which, needless to say, was enjoyed by all. Mr. and Mrs. Oliver Strain of Port Arthur visited the latter's stsjter, Mrs. Arch. McLean. Mr. an^ Mrs. S. are on their way home from a mot,or trip through' the Southern States. Mr. Lee had his arm badly cut but the two fellows escaped without much injuries, but with the attention of Dr. .Guy Mr. Lee will soon be alright again.
