Quite a number of our local iiim- rods took in the shooting matches at J. Pierson's and J. Turner's on Mon- day and returned with ducks and geese. Messrs. Stothart and Frock dispos- ed of a carload of young cattle at the stock yards on Saturday, Mr. J. O'Neil being the auctioneer. The Thanksgiving services in the United Church on Sunday were con- ducted by Rev. F. N. Bowes of Mark- dale, were well attended and splend- sermons were given by Mr. Bowes. The fowl supper and entertainment on Monday evening was very success- ful. A large crowd, abundance of good things to eat and a good pro- gram of vocal numbers by Durham Knox United choir, speeches by Rev. Mr. Smith of Durham and Rev. Mr. Clements of. Flesherton. also short addresses by Editors Ramage and Ii-fwin of Durham, with the pastcu-, ' Rev. .S. G. McCormack in the ehifr, made a very pleasant evening. The proceetls amounted to $90.50. Rev. Sutherland preached splend- id . sermons to large Presbyterian congregations m Watson's Hull on Sunday. The morning sermon was based on Armistice Day and was very touching. Hammond, Meaford, spent Thanksgiving with his mother. Church services were held in the Community Hall Sunday night, also Communion service. Rev. H. V. Ell- ison preached a very fine practical sermon from the first half of the 1st verse of Psalm 138. The music was also much enjoyed, especially the quartette by Mr. Ellison, Mr. B. Carr- uthers, Mr. Buschlen and Mr. Leslie McMullen. A beautiful bouquet of flowers, roses and carnations, brought by Mr. and Mrs. Duncaii of Dundalk, added to the enjoyment. We extend our congratulations to the young couple. We are glad to report all the sick are regaining health.
