I Boyd opened the scoring when he pumped one through Lavelle, and McTavish ltd out with another. Moon followed .suit when ho batted in a loose rebound off Akin's pads for his team's initial and only goal of the gme. Boyd drilled in another one on a pass from McTavish, and the period ended with Flesherton leading by a 3 â€" 1 score. In the second stanza, the locnis assumed the upper hand and held id throughout the remainder of the game, checking closely and bombard- ing Lavelle, who at times looked like a human sieve. McTavish scored on a long lift, and completed his ev- ening's work when he rifled in two more during the last period. The locals all played great hockey, with McTavish turning in his best game of the winter. McDonald was used on defense with Nuhn subbing, to keep a junior aspect to the encoun- ter. The visitors were afterwards entertained by the local high school girls, and all wended their way to meet again another day. Durham Boys: â€" Goalâ€" <3. A good spring- costs a little more, but look at the extra comfort you have in being able o sleep while vou are in bed. The very Mattress you need is a WAY SAGLESS SPRING, which will not sag under any conditions and is guaran- teed lor 25 years. Surely that ought to be long en- ough. It does not matter if the two persons sleeping on it are of uneijual weight, as it adjusts itself. Our regular price on this spring is $10.00; look at page 346 of catalogue and see what it costs to order that way. Now to match this Spring we have different lines of mattresses from $12.00 up we would recommend to go with this spring. We also have a good linie of Arm Chairs an<l Rockers to sit in comfort in for a couple of hours be- fore going to bed, ranging from $8.00 up. Call and look these lines over. Don't be afraid you will offend us if you do not buy, for we know you cannot beat them anywhere. AUCTION SALE BILLS HERE Leg Broken Drawing Wood From Valley One of the most remarkable cases of determination and grit that we have ever heard of occurred on Fri- day afternoon last, when Mr. Robt. Ferris of town suffered an accident which will confine him to the house for some weeks. He was at work in the vallley, get. ting out logs, and had ^practically completed the loading of the sleigh with buzz poles, and in attempting to take hold of thq Jast limb, it swung around, striking him on the leg and fracturing it in two niaces. As Mr. Ferris was .-^lone at the j b'g work horse.-W time, it was a serious matter, with no one at hand to assist him to the -sleigh as he would have perished with the cold had he remained out during the night. He crawled to the horses, which were tied to a tree some distance away, untied them, and in some manner climbed to the back of one, guided them to the sleigh, ] and hitched human act, reaching the road, one of the horses !« â-  â-  fell, and the injured man climbed I ^^^^ ^-^^E - Cow four years old, down from the load, unfastened the I Durham, due March 2nd,-Wm. Mr. S. E. dcCudmore was dele I gated to place a telephonic conimuni- I cation into the bands of the manager- shii) of the visiting club, and on Tues- day, made an offer to the manager of the team with the privilege of n^iting the local vink or a fifty fifty ."plit of all gate receipts. This offer, the generosity of whch was un- questionable when one takes into con- sideration the fact that Dundalk is without a rink, was promptly, em- phatically and firmly refusisl, and the effort to bring about a friendly Sipirit iK-tween the two factions went wanting. "l^ui" however, has no intention of tiJming the other cheek, and as a result no great harm was done. Markdale, the jinx of the local team, play here on Friday night.
