Collinson's. , Mr. and Mrs. Luther Duckett and family motored to Creemore the first of the week. A quiet wedding of interest to friends here took place in St. Paul's United Church, Toronto, on Saturday, July 7th, at 3 p.m., when Miss Marg- aret Robertson Moncrief, B.A., only daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Thos. Mon- crief, was united in marriage to Mr. Cecil J. Cushnie, B.A., only son of Mr. and Mrs. J. W. Cushnie^ Toronto, Rev. J. D. McCrae officiating. Only immediate friends of the contracting parties were present. The happy couple left immediately after the ceremony for a motor trip to Quebec, New Brunswick, Maine and several New England States and will be at home to their many friends after September 1st. The groom is a grandson of Constable R. Cook. Mr. and Mrs. Huston and little son of Peterboro attended the McLeod- Muir wedding on Saturday and re- turned to their home on Monday. McLEOD â€" MUIR A quiet but pretty wedding took place at the home ot Mr. and Mrs. Peter Muir on Saturday, July 7th, when their daughter, Rol^'na, was united in marriage to Mr. Earl Mc- Leoid, son of Mr. and Mrs. Wm. Mc- Leod of Swinton Park, by Rev. F. Sullivan of Priceville. The bride, who was given away by her father, took her place in the living room be- side a banl|^ of ferns, pink and white peonies, orange blossoms and ivy, to the strains of Lohengrin's wedding march, played by her sister. Mrs. H. Huston, of Peterboro. The bride looked pretty in a gown of peach georgette with silver trimmings, sil- ver stockings and black shoes, and carried a shower bouquet of OpHelia roses and fern. She was attended by Miss Annie McLeod, sister of the groom, who wore a poure blue geor- gette gown and carried pink roses and baby breath. The groom was sup- ported by Mr. Stewart Muir, brother of the bride. After the ceremony and congratulations all repaired to the dining room, where the table was prettily decorated with pink and white with silver vases and orange blos- soms. The bride's cake, which was very pretty, centred the table. Later the happy couple left amid showers of confetti by motor to Northern On- [ y^'cn. tario and will visit North Bay, New | M^g^ Robert pair of gold cuff linka and to the organist a brooch. Only immediate friends of the bride and groom were present. The bride, who ia very popular, was the recipient of many beautiful gifts, and the very best wishes of the community is extended to MV. and Mrs. McLeod. Owing to a misunderstanding no preacher arrived for the service on Sunday, but Mrs. Canifel, of Saiam, Oregon, who is visiting here, gave a talk which was much enjoyed by all present. Mrs Marshall spent the week end with Bolton friends. Mr and Mrs. Knell of Owen Sound holidayed with Mr. and Mrs. Luther Duckett the first of the week. Mr. and Mrs. R. G. Patterson and son, Gordon, Mrs. Swift of To- ironto, were week end visitors at Mr. Archie Stewart's. Miss Kate Stewart retuitaed to Toronto wjtb them for a week's holiday. Mr. Ted Myles had the' misfortune to lose a sheep by lighting last week. The residence of MV. Thos. Soul was struck by lightning. The chim- ney was destroyed and a hole made in the ceiling. Fortunately the house did not catch fire. Mrs. Graham of Weston is visiting her son, Chas. Graham, and family. Miss Florence Burritt of Niagara Falls is visiting her grandarents, Mr. and Mrs. S. S. Burritt. Mr. Russel Hammond of Toronto visited recently with Mr. and Mrs. S. S. Burritt. Mr. and Mrs. Thompson Bums and children of North Bay visited recently with Mt. and Mrs. John L. Fawcett. Mr. and Mrs. Gee. Stuart snd two chilren of Powassan visited with Mrs. W. T. Ellis. While returning from Niagara Falls with a truck loaded with twenty child- ren of the Sunday School and their teacher, Mrs. Burritt, also Mrs. Thos. Soul, Mr. D. L. Weber had his truck crashed into by a Hudson sedan, which was ruined. Mr. Weber had signalled to cross over the road into the Britannia school yard, ni?ar Brampto^, when the car driven by Mr. Morgan of Sunnyside suddenly ap- peared over a little grade, driver at an excessive rate of speed. T.Cr. Weber was within seven feet of being entirely off the road, when the sedan crashed- into the truck, hioving it fourteen feet and ^turning it over. The truck was a new Chevrolet and weighed about four tons and was tak- en to Bramtpon where repairs were made to bring the chfldren h -. Mr. Weber was badly bruised when he took the door of the truck o- '^. while Mrs. Burritt, who was also i i the cab, had her eye cut. Davidsc and wives of Buffalo visited with friends in this village last week. Mr. and Mrs. Wm. Clinton and son, John, and wife of Toronto were callers here last week. Mr. and Mrs. John Brackenbury. wife and babe of Flesherton visited with Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Barber onr day last week. Mr. Harry Thombury of Creemore spent Sunday with his parents here. A heavy storm passed over our vicinity on Monday, but we received little of it. A good shower would be welcome here now. Miss Lucy McDonald, have gone to Owen Sound to spend a week with Mr. and Mrs. Chas. Quesnel and family. Mrs. Richard Park and son, RusseM, spent Sunday with the former's sister, Mrs. Beaton, near Durham. Mrs. Jos. Williams and son, Joe, ac- companied by Mr. and Mrs. Thos. Fenwick, motored to Gait Monday. Mrs. Boss Lehman has returned to her home in Toronto. Messrs. Alex, and Bates Fhwcett of Owen Sound spent the week end at their parental liome here. Mrs. Rody Gordon and children have taken up residence in part -of 'Mr. Fred Jamieson's residene in the suburbs. Mr. Joseph Weber and THiss Mary have moved from our vicinity and are now making their abode in Kimberley. Mr. Geo. Graham has been busy the past few weeks tearing down the old buildings on his property here, and rebuilding them, thus making a decid- ed improvement in the appearance of the village. Mr. Graham is certainly a handy man at the carpenter work. Mr. and Mrs. J. F. Marsh and daughter of Toronto were week end visitors with Mr. and Mrs. E. Morgan. Mount Zion Sunday school pic-niced last Friday at the home of Mr. and MVs. Jas. Hopps. An enjoyable time was spent by the children and the grown-up children. Mrs. J. W. Haney is enjoying an extended visit with Iriends at Bolton. Miss McCannel has resigned as teacher of our school and Miss John- son, formerly of the Eugenia school, is to be her successor. Mr. and Mrs. Harry Thompson and little son of Detroit motored over and visited with Mr. and Mrs. J. A. Thompson. Miss Lillian Taylor of Toronto is visiting with relatives in this part. MIrs. J. W. Lyons visited with her daughter in Toronto. Our dramatic club iourned to Max- veil last Wednesday and furnished the program at the garden party there.
