The above fact is declared to be correct by Mr. Steve Sutton of town, who knows a bear when he sees one, and stated that it appeared to him to be a yearling about half grown. Salvation Army Band Here Next Wednesday Arrangements have been made to bring the Salvation Army Band of Civen Sound to Flesherton, on Wed'- nesday evening of next week, June 26th, which is open . night for the stores in town. This will be a splen- did chance to hear this large band from the county town, which 'has visited here on other occasions. If the engagement proves satisfactory an attempt will be made to bring the band to Flesherton either each or every other Wednesday evening throughout the summer months. Let everyone be out to town that night and listen to the music to be pro- vided by the band. . HIT DEAD ON A bad car accident occurred just this side of Shelbume on Sunday, a Toronto party ran into another car head on. The accident occurred on the curve at the Shslbume cemetery. The Toronto car tried to pass the one ahead and ran into another car travelling in the opposite direction. We have not learned the extent of the damage. His Doubts Vanished That the big speckled trout have not all been caught was evidenced last week, when the largest fish of the season was reported to The Ad- vance. It was caught by Mr. Sam McMurdo of Swinton Park and measured twenty inches long, twelve inches in girth and weighed three pounds and five ounces and was caught in the Saugeen river near Priceville. Mr. J. S. McMillan of Ceylon accompanied his friend, Mr. McMurdo to the river for some sport and that day no fish arose to the lure to prove that fish of any size resided in the Saugeen. Mr. MacMillan took a skeptical view that there were no finny monsters in the river and there was no use dangling bait ' o something that wasn't there, but Mr. McMurdo, to prove to his friend that there were, went back the next day and landed the big beafity. as described above. The Late John Clinton There passed away at Edmontoa, Alta., on June 2nd, an old resident of Osprey township in the person ot John Clinton, at the age of 72 years.
