On Saturday eve about five o'clo:k, when Chas. Moore was returning honu with the drag, at the bend in the road at Inistioge church a car going north ran into the drag throwing him ofl the seat, hitting his side when falling, where he remaned breathless for some time. The horses did not run as his arm slipped through the lines and held them but they dragged him a little ways soon stopping. Dr. Martin who was summoned is nat sure how badly he is hurt, but thinks a punrtur- ed pleora is the worst, which will necessitate a couple of weeks complete rest at least. Mr. and Mrs. Thos. (Last Week's Items) Kenneth, the little four-year-old son of Mr. and Mrs. Milton NiL-hoUs, of Feversham, was drowned on Wed- nesday morning in the mill da.m. He wa.s out in the morning piaymg a round the mill, but was not seen to go near the dam, and was not mi.ssed until after dinn->r-time, when his fath- er, who is employed in the mill, went to look for him. He could find nc trace of him anywhere and it was then that he turned to the mill dam, and after a brief search his body was found in the water. It is supposed that he wandered to the top of the dam and slipped oi fell into the water, but no person saw him around the dam. It is supposed that he had been in the water over an hour when he was found. He is survived by his parents and one broth- er, Elmer, two years old. The sin- cere sympathy of their many friends is being extended to the heart-broken parents. Mr. and Mrs. Worthington and son, Jack, and Mr. Gordon Band of Long Branch, Ont, were visited with Mr. and Mrs. Colquecte last week. Rev. and Mrs. J. A. Brown, a for- mer pastor on the Maxwell circuit, were visitors with friends last week. Rev. Brown has charge of the United church near Weston. He was awarded on Thursday morning last by landing a beauty weighing three pounds and one ounce and measuring 20 inches long. Mrs. Gillies of Toronto spent a couple Oi' days visiting at Mrs. Archie Currie's. Miss Bessie Cairns spest a few days visiting Miss Sadie Carson. Misses Jean and Donekla Gillies ol Toronto are holidaying at Mr. Archi*. Currie's. Wed. night a miscellaneous showei was held at the home of Mr. Joe Ferris in honor of the bride am groom, Mr. and Mrs. Elmer Harrison when a very large crowd was present The evening was spent in dancing on a large platform outside. The bride and groom were the recipients of nany beautiful and useful gifts. Lunct was served at midnight and a most enjoyable evening was spent. Miss Eva Carson of Toronto spent the week end at her home. Mr. John L. McKinnon of Saskatoon motored over and is holidaying with his brother. Archie, and other friends. M"-. and Mrs. Geo. Drimmie and four children of Egremont, Mr. and Mrs. Wni. Drimmie and sort and daughter of Radison, Sask. visited on Tuesday at Mr. David Hinck's. The latter four motoring all the way a distance of 2181 miles. He is a school inspector and has held that office over 27 years. Miss Esther Mclnnis, Toronto, is holidaying at her home. Mr. Malcolm Ferguson, Ceylon spent a few days visiting at Mr. Dan Stewart's. Miss Bernice Carson returned home on Saturday after spending three weeks in Toronto. Miss Margaret McLean is visiting in Toronto. Miss Catherine MacMillan, R. N. returned to Dunnville, alter spending two weeks at her home. Mr. Gilvray McLean, Tiverton, spent the holiday at his home. Rev. Reidy occupied the pulpit on Sunday in the hall. The service will be withdrawn next Sabbath owing to the Memorial Service to be held Sun- day, .\ugust 7th, adjoining the monu- ment. Mrs. Alex. Carson left Monday to visit her daughters i.n Toronto and Brighton, Ont. Mr. Tommy Currie met with a very painful accident on Friday night, whan playing ball against Dromore team. While playing 2nd base he went to catch the bail as the runnel was comin.^: and slipocd and fell on his ankle. He was taken to Markdale hospital where ti was found that th^ bone in the ankle was broken. Dr Milne and Dr. Carefoot set the foot and placed it in a cast.
