A presentation and dance was held last Thursday evening at Robinson's Hall for Mr. and Mrs. Gould and Isaibel when they were .presented with a nest of tables and a coffee perculator by the friends and neigh- bors of the Feversham and Maxwell community. Our best wishes go with them to their new home. They moved last week to Markdale. Miss Velma Smith has resumed her duties at the telephone office after holidaying for a week. Mr. Bill Stocks, Bobbie and Jack, Mr. Bert Gardner and Billie, Toronto and Mr. James McClennin, Dundalk spent a day last week with Mr. and Mrs. Wilfred Teeter and family. Mrs. Howard McKee after spend- ing a week with friends in Toronto and Hamilton returned on Saturday with her husband who spent the week end and holiday here. Mr. and Mrs. Lome McQuay and baby, and Miss Norma Heitman, Collingwood spent .the week end and holiday with (Mr. and Mrs. Wm. Heit- man. Cpl. Harry Kerton of Niagara-on- the-lake was a caller in the village last week. Mr. Eli Robinson left last week to visit two weeks or longer with his son-in-law and daughter, Mr. apd Mrs. Dick Fadden at New Jersey, U. S. A. Mr. and Mrs. John Hudson and Paul returned last Saturday after a month's visit with friends at Way- burn and other places in Saskatch- ewan. Visitors over the week end and holiday with Mr. and Mrs. Jas. Long were iMr. and Mrs. Ross Long, Tor- onto, Mr. and Mrs. Harry Mont- gomery and Carole, Dundalk. Mrs. Allan McLean returned to Collingwood after spending a week with Mr, and Mrs. John MoLean. Mr. and Mrs. Ross Robbins, Toronto visited over the week end with Mr. and Mrs. McLean. Mr. and Mrs. Herbert Francis and son. Jack of Orillia were visitors over the week end and holiday at the home of the former's brother, Mr. H. C. Francis. Mr. and Mrs. George Ottewell spent Sunday with Mr. and Mrs. Geo. Waller, Flesherton. Mr. and Mrs. T. Forsythe and family, Owen Sound visited over the week end with Mr. and Mrs. G. Bby and Marion. Mr. and Mrs. Herb Eby and Stephen returned to Barrie after a week's holidays. Miss Irene Hudson is holidaying r. week with friends at St. Marys'. Mr. and Mrs. Rae and daughter Alice of Komoka arrived Monday to reside in Mr. Jas. Ottewell 's resid- ence lately vacated by Mr. Gould. Mr. Rae has been secured as teacher in the Continuation School here. We welcome them to our village. Mr. and Mrs Reid and Mrs. Tom Rice and Donna, Hamilton, are visit- ing a week with Mr. and Mrs. C, N. Long, Dr. Brown and Mrs. Brown, Dun- dalk were guests Sunday night with Mr. and Mrs. J. Edgar. Dr. Brown conducted the service at the Presby- terian Church Sunday evening. Mr and Mrs L. Shein are spending this week in Toronto. Mr. and Mrs. A. C. Douglas (nee Queenie Kaitting), New Liskeard, are hhlidaying with Mr. and Mrs. Geo. Burke and other relatives. School has re-opened for another ] term, with Mrs. E. A. Stinson re-en- | gaged. j Miss Muriel Talbot, Toronto was a week end visitor at her parental home. Miss Gertrude Montgomery, Tor- onto has been spending her vacation with her father Mr. Allen Montgom- ery. Mr. and Mrs. George McGregor, Wayne and Maurene, Preston spent a week holidaying with the latter'a parents, Mr. and Mrs. Jas. Batchelor. Miss Viotta Richardson went to Toronto at the week end to accept a position. Misses Kaye Bannon and Hilda Blasuis, Toronto, terminated their western trip by visiting the former's parents, Mr. and Mrs. Milton Ban- non. The girls have returned to Toronto to resume their nursing duties. Miss Ruth Richardson, Toronto is vactioning with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. J. H. Richardson. Several from this community at- tended the funeral of the late Mrs. Wm. Taylor (a former Portlaw re- sident) Oil Sunday afternoon at Mt. Zion. Week end and holiday visitors in the neighborhood were, Mr. Kingsley Gallagher and Miss Lorraine Smith, Toronto with the former's parents, Mr. and Mrs. Wilfred Gallagher; Mr. and Mrs. Nelson Copeland and littl* son, Kenneth, with Mr. and Mrs. Jos. Copeland; Mr. and Mrs. L. P. Killizs and Gordon Smithville, Mr. and Mrs. Chas. E. Moore, Mr. and Mrs. Gord- on Ward, Margaret and Larrie Mor- row, Toronto, with Mr. and Mrs. George Moore and Garry. PORTLAW Mr. Stanley Taylor of Brampton was home at the week end and atten- ded the funeral oi his aunt, the late Mrs. Wm. Taylor, Mrs. I>angeIo and little daughter of Mimico were week end guests of the former's aunt and uncle, Mr. and Mrs. Herb Betts. Mr. and Mrs. Ken McKee and daughters, Ruth and" June and Miss Florence Boyce of Toronto visited with friends here, Mrs, Etta Blackburn, Flesherton spent the week end with Mr. and Mrs. A. Blackburn. Pte. R. D. Meldrum of Camp Bord- en visited with his parents, Mr. and Mrs. C. D. Meldrum. -Mr. and Mrs. David Jamieson, Mr. £nd Mrs. Nelson Copeland and little son of Toronto spent labour day with friends here. The Fourth Line Red Cross Unit held a successful dance in Flesherton Hall on Friday night. Proceeds at the door were about $36.00. To all those who helped make this a suc- cess we say, "Thank you." Mr. and Mrs. Oscar McKee, of Hamilton, Miss Shirley Wood, Tor- onto and Mrs. Wolfe and Joanne of Flesherton visited the McKee and Blackburn families, labour day.
