WATSON & WAT.SON Dundalk, Ontario FARM FOR SALE Flesherton made things interest- ing for Dundalk C.O.L. team in the Ice Palace Friday night, and despite the absence of four regular players, managi'd to come out of the game with a tJ-G tie. Dundalk had beaten them 8-1 in Dundiilk. The game did not mean very much to th« local team as they were comfortably es- tablished in thiixi place. Maybe for this r»iison and the absence of the four players the attendance was not up to the mark of other games this season, but a <food crowd was on hand. The first period was slow, hut Dundalk took the lead 3-0 on goals by Stafford from Haw and Bradley," Grummett from Campbell and Bus Springgay from Scilley. There were no penalties. Th« second period was even in scoring with each team counting twice. Dundalk made it 4-0 when Bradley went in alone at 1.36. With that disgrace staring them in lihe face the boys decided they had to do somjethin£> about it and Dargiavel counted with Teetep and Chard tak- ing assists. Piper then added an- other from Cairns at 7-16 and at 8.21 of tb« period Bradley took Stafford's pass and the period ended 6-2. The penalty in this period was given to Bradley for a trip. Cairns took a pass from Roy Best at 1.46 of the third period and Staf- ford added another one on Haw's pass at 4.68. Dan MacTaviah took a tripping penalty, but no damage was done while he was off and at 7.33 Dargavel took Chard's pa^a to make the score 6-4. At this point Sprtgngay and Oaims had a little boRKping duel that ended in a fight and both were banished witih a ma- jor penalty, and then to liven things up a bit Springspay attacked Cairns in the pest box, and while they were cooling out Boyd made one of his iSamous cork-screw rushes through the Dundalk team from defence and his driving shdt was too much for Batchelor. The fight livened the gine up and play was fast for thp remainder of the game. With the count 6-5 Flesherton became de- termined to tie the game and with Ferris holding his end up in goal, the boys went to work and a gang- inng attack wtis fruitful whicn Ted MacTavish took Piper's pass from the comer and made sure that the biscuit went in^p the net. That ended the scoring, but it was not that there were no shots on goal, as both goalies made some wonderful stops. In fact both were real good. This was the last scheduled game and the Majors will now wait for the League play-offs, which will start ne3ct week, no doubt.
